What Is a Bulldozer Track Roller?
The track roller sits between the track frame and the chain, carrying the machine's weight and keeping the chain running straight. On a D155A — a 36-tonne machine — each roller takes constant load and impact. When the seal goes, the oil drains fast, the bushing runs dry, and the roller seizes. Medium-frequency induction hardening to 6–10 mm depth across the tread and flange faces. Shallow hardening wears through quickly and exposes soft core material. The 6–10 mm spec matches Komatsu OEM and keeps the roller serviceable through the full track chain replacement interval.
The seal keeps lubricant in and abrasive particles out. Ours is rated for continuous operation above 45°C — relevant for Middle East and Gulf sites where ground surface temperatures regularly exceed 60°C in summer. Once the seal fails, the bushing runs dry within days and the roller seizes.
